Custom Greek apparel process

How a Custom Greek Order Works

A custom Greek order at Arete Greek moves through eight steps: you submit a design, approve a free proof, and we produce, quality check, and ship the full order to one chapter address. Standard orders take about three weeks from proof approval to delivery, with one-week rush available. Every order is made from just 10 pieces, in certified facilities, with a quality guarantee behind it.

From free proof to certified production and one chapter shipment, every Arete Greek order follows the same transparent path so your merch chair always knows what happens next.

Eight steps

From Design to Your Door in Eight Steps

  1. The ProcessStep 01

    Submit Your Design

Build your design in our Design Studio or send us your own artwork. You can add your Greek letters, chapter colors, and crest, or start from an idea and let our team help shape it. Nothing is locked in at this stage, so this is the time to get the design exactly how your chapter wants it.

  2. The ProcessStep 02

    Get a Quote

Share your design and headcount and we confirm your price, decoration method, and timeline. Orders start at just 10 pieces per design, and the per-piece price drops as the quantity grows, so a small exec board order and a full chapter order are both welcome.

  3. The ProcessStep 03

    Approve Your Free Proof

Before anything is produced, we send a free proof so you see exactly how your design sits on the garment, in your colors, at the right placement. Nothing prints until you approve it, and if something needs adjusting, you request changes first. The proof is free on every order, at every quantity.

  4. The ProcessStep 04

    Complete Payment

Once your proof is approved, you complete payment. Split payment is available, so each member can pay their own share rather than one person fronting the cost for the whole chapter and chasing everyone down afterward.

  5. The ProcessStep 05

    Certified Production Begins

Your order is made in facilities certified to Fair Trade, Sedex, WRAP, ISO 9001:2015, and the International Accord standards. For a chapter, that means your apparel is produced ethically and to a consistent quality standard, which matters when every member is wearing the same piece in public.

  6. The ProcessStep 06

    Quality Check

Every piece is checked before it leaves production, for print and stitch quality, color accuracy, and sizing against your order. A full chapter order spans a wide size range, so this step catches issues before they reach your members rather than after.

  7. The ProcessStep 07

    One Shipment, One Address

Your full order ships together as one delivery to a single chapter address, rather than arriving in pieces or shipping to individual members. That keeps the order simple to distribute and keeps everyone on the same timeline for your event.

  8. The ProcessStep 08

    Backed by a Quality Guarantee

If anything arrives wrong or defective, send us a photo on WhatsApp within two to three days and we resolve it with a concession, typically within two weeks. Because every piece is made to order, this covers mistakes or defects on our end rather than change-of-mind returns, so it pays to confirm your design and sizes before you approve the proof.

Timeline

How Long Does a Custom Greek Order Take?

Standard production runs about two weeks after you approve your proof, plus three to five business days in transit, for roughly three weeks start to finish. If your event is close, one-week rush production is available for an added fee. Rush covers production time, not shipping, and it starts once your full order and proof are confirmed, so share your event date when you request a quote and we confirm the right track before you commit.

Decoration

Choose Your Decoration Method

The right decoration method depends on your design, your garment, and how long the piece needs to last. A bold event tee and a keepsake letter hoodie call for completely different methods, so here is what each one does best. If you are not sure, tell us your design and garment when you request a quote and we recommend the method that fits.

Print Methods

Screen Print
Best for bold, colorful designs and large chapter orders where everyone wears the same artwork. Lasts for years.
DTF (Direct-to-Film)
Best for full-color, detailed artwork on almost any fabric, applied with heat. Holds up well through washing and wear.
DTG (Direct-to-Garment)
Best for small runs and photographic, full-color prints with fine detail. A good option for exec board or specialty pieces.
Sublimation
Best for all-over prints on light polyester garments, with colors bonded permanently into the fabric rather than sitting on top.

Embroidery and Letters

Embroidery (Direct, Hand, and Distressed)
Best for logos, crests, caps, and a premium, textured finish. Very durable, and available in a clean direct stitch, a hand-worked look, or a distressed vintage finish.
Applique
Best for patches, jerseys, and sleeve detailing, where fabric shapes are stitched onto the garment for a layered, varsity feel. Long lasting.
Chenille Embroidery
Best for a raised, fuzzy varsity look, the kind of lettering you see on letterman jackets. Very durable and textured.
Stitched and Sewn-on Letters
The keepsake choice for Greek letters, and the method chapters come to us for most. Twill letters are cut and sewn onto the garment so they hold their shape and color for years rather than cracking or fading the way print eventually can. This is the piece a member keeps long after graduation.

Embellishments

Metal Studs
Best for edge detailing and hardware accents that add dimension to a design. Permanent once set.
Rhinestone
Best for formals, philanthropy events, and glamour pieces. Available hotfix (heat-applied) or hand-placed flat back, so you can go for a quick all-over sparkle or precise custom placement.

Production standards

Produced in Certified Facilities

FAQ

Custom Greek Order FAQs

How long does a custom Greek order take?

A standard custom Greek order takes about three weeks from proof approval to delivery: roughly two weeks of production plus three to five business days of shipping. If your event is close, one-week rush production is available for an added fee, which covers production time rather than shipping. Rush starts once your full order and proof are confirmed, so share your exact event date when you request a quote and we confirm whether standard or rush is the right track before you commit.

Do I need to approve a proof before production starts?

Yes, and the proof is free on every order. Before anything is produced, we send a proof showing exactly how your design sits on the garment, in your chosen colors, at the right placement. Nothing goes to production until you approve it, and if the design needs adjusting, you request changes first. This step exists so your whole chapter order comes out the way you expect, rather than discovering an issue after a hundred pieces are already printed.

Can chapter members pay separately?

Yes. Split payment is available, so each member can pay their own share rather than one person covering the full cost up front and collecting from everyone afterward. This is one of the most common reasons chapters choose to order together as a group, since it removes the burden from a single merch chair or treasurer and keeps the order moving without chasing payments.

What if something arrives wrong or defective?

If anything arrives wrong or defective, send us a photo within two to three weeks of receiving your order, along with your order details. We review it and resolve the issue with a concession, typically within two weeks. Because every piece is made to order, this covers mistakes or defects on our end rather than change-of-mind returns, which is why confirming your design and sizes at the free proof stage matters before production begins.

Can I reorder the same design later?

Yes. We keep your approved design and specs on file, so when new members join or you need more pieces, reordering does not mean starting from scratch. You can run the same design again in the same colors and placement, which keeps a chapter's look consistent year over year as the roster changes.

What is the minimum order quantity?

The minimum order is 10 pieces per design, which is lower than most Greek apparel vendors. That means even a small chapter, an exec board, or a single new member class can order exactly what they need, while larger orders get a better per-piece price as the quantity grows. The 10-piece minimum applies per design, so a chapter ordering two different designs would meet the minimum on each.
